Kat, founder of Being Human Co, keynote speaker, facilitator and educator.

This is about being human - not being perfect.

Kat is the founder of Being Human Co - a speaker, educator and former Head of Sport with over 20 years experience working with people and leaders. Kat works at the intersection of connection, perspective and personal power.

With a background in education and health and shaped by profound lived experience, Kat delivers experiences that help people navigate challenge, adversity and transition by reconnecting with who they are and how they want to lead.

Her work spans schools, sport and organisations, supporting individuals and teams to build clarity, emotional maturity and purpose - not just performance.

Her work isn’t about ‘hype’ - it’s about contribution, belonging and giving every person in the room practical tools they can actually use.

A lived understanding of adversity

Kat survived a life threatening accident in Thailand that left her with a 20% chance of survival.

That moment didn’t just change her life - it sharpened her understanding of what truly matters.

Rather than becoming the focus of her work, this experience informs it quietly and powerfully. It underpins her belief that life is built on connection, that perspective is both a choice and a skill and that when people learn to regulate their inner world, they gain agency over how they show up - in life, leadership and adversity.

This is not a story of triumph for impact’s sake. It’s the foundation of work that is grounded, honest and deeply human.

“I was incredibly inspired by her ideas and perspectives that she shared…

we all left with a new outlook on how to perceive challenges and setbacks no matter how big or small they may be.”

Kat brings more than inspiration - she brings credibility and care.

She has over 15 years experience as a Health and Physical Education teacher, holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (First Class Honours) from RMIT University, spent nine years as Head of Sport at an all girls secondary college and 25 years as a Junior and Senior Sport coach.

This combination of education, leadership and lived experience allows Kat to create spaces that feel safe, real and transformative - where people feel seen, challenged and supported.

Her sessions are known for being:

  • Story driven but never performative

  • Evidence based without jargon

  • Interactive, reflective, practical and deeply engaging

Kat doesn’t aim to move the room. She aims to reach every person in it.

Her work helps people:

  • Build perspective and self belief when things feel uncertain or demanding

  • Strengthen connection and belonging

  • Regulate emotions and responses

  • Separate identity from performance

  • Lead with authenticity, empathy and purpose

“The presentation by Being Human Co was both inspiring and thought-provoking. It offered a powerful reminder of the importance of authenticity, connection, and compassion in both personal and professional spaces.

A truly refreshing experience!”
